The Prescott-Russell Coalition to End Violence Against Women invites you to take part in the vigil ceremony on December 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the following location:

- Commemorative Monument in Casselman, at Seniors’ Park (802 Laval Street) In case of inclement weather, please go to the Fire Station located at 745 Brébeuf Street, Casselman.

These vigils are a time to remember the women who lost their lives due to gender-based violence, but also to strengthen our awareness and understanding of this issue. It is a symbolic occasion to say loud and clear: NO to violence against women.

Since 2013, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell have declared December 6 as the Day of Non-Violence, an initiative that allows us to hope for a safer life for the women and children of our community.

This date also carries national significance: December 6 is recognized in Canada as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, in memory of the 14 women killed during the tragedy at Montréal’s École Polytechnique in 1989. This event remains one of the deadliest shootings targeting women and has profoundly marked our collective history.

We hope you can join us for this gathering. If you have any question, please visit our Facebook page.
