From November 25 to December 10, the Prescott-Russell Coalition to End Violence Towards Women is joining the international movement of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence including:
- International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25
- National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6, in memory of the 14 young women murdered during the École Polytechnique tragedy in Montréal, and Day of NON-Violence in Prescott-Russell, in memory of the women and children who were victims of femicide here.
- Human Rights Day on December 10
Assist to a Vigil Ceremony
The Coalition is organizing three commemorative vigils in Hawkesbury, Casselman and Rockland to honor the memory of femicide victims and to remind us that gender-based violence remains a stark reality in our Prescott-Russell communities. Visit the calendar section for full details.
Wear the White Ribbon
The Coalition also invites all men in the region to take part in the White Ribbon Campaign. This campaign is the world’s largest movement of men and boys working to end violence against women and girls, while promoting gender equality, healthy relationships, and a new vision of masculinity. Order your white ribbon now.
Violence against women affects our communities. Together, let us raise our voices, honor the victims, and commit to building a safer, more just future for all.
